There were many spin-offs from the nuclear archetype, including architectural renderings. My original factory drawing board was demolished by hammers, so I built a more discrete flip-top version with a hole to put my coffee, which I used as a wash. I drew on the back of old factory order forms, tearing them in half to adapt to my smaller drawing board. The ethereal blues, yellows and greens, were released from the black ink when wet.
