During the evolution of the symbol, there was a persistent feminine element; when I drew the archetype a certain number of times, I was compelled to draw this feminine form. The evolving symbol had meaning, but what I knew not. Until one day I went to a book store and walked directly to a book, "America B.C.," and opened it to a meaningful answer.
The Play of Opposites
Revelation
It was a revelation when I discovered that the unknown abstract symbol was 1/2 of the Micmac Indian Hieroglyph for "Men." This indicated that I had reached the depths of the unconscious, which provided me with the complimentary male element to engage in the Play of Opposites with the feminine element. The lateral 1/2 of the male element with the posterior 1/2 of the female element made a symbolic whole. The tension inherent in this duality during the play of opposites was shattering my own limited consciousness. This revelation gave new meaning to my journey and made me aware of higher forces. I was now convinced that I was on the right track. While others may have viewed my compulsive drawing as a sign of insanity, my perserverance was a testament to my belief in the powers of art - I was pursuing a dream.
